Scenes from the Railway Children

Eagles’ Class have been looking at the Wensleydale Railway, and how railways developed across Britain as their local history study this term.  Following a superb visit to Scruton Station a few weeks ago, the Eagles were fired up for a bit of drama – and took on a favourite scene from their class book – The Railway Children.  They worked hard to understand their characters, and even included some of the railway poetry they have been studying in their piece.  Here is their adaptation of Chapter VI – Saviours of the Train.

Our thanks to the Scruton Station Heritage Education Programme and Mrs Arrowsmith for inspiring our topic work and helping us out with our costumes.
